ART AND PLAY: June 9-11: 9am-4pm: 6-12 years old
The single most important part of creating might be a student’s ability to play. When they are imagining they throw open the doors and windows of their minds and truly create from scratch. In this 3-day camp art students will begin by playing with texture while creating their own wall art out of plastic ribbon and chicken wire. Think fence weaving but at an individual scale. They will then play with scale creating life size self-portraits of themselves as queens or kings, of their own fantastical kingdoms! Diving into the concept of color students will make black and white prints and then add color, playing all the way. We’ll spend time during breaks playing in the sunshine and making new friends. Students will need to pack lunch each day.
